Does Pastor work with macOS Catalina (10.15) or higher?
No. No updates planned for Pastor.
Make sure to export your data from Pastor before upgrading (File > Export as Cleartext). That data can be imported to Pastor Reader which is available for iOS.

Are there known issues with Pastor and macOS High Sierra (10.13) and macOS Mojave (10.14)?
Pastor works with High Sierra and Mojave but it doesn't quit. You have to force quit the app (press Command + Option + Escape). No update to Pastor planned.

How can I search for an entry?
Find-As-You-Type – Click on entries pane and type what you're searching for. Pastor will select the first matching entry.

How can I change the password of my Pastor document?
Save your data to a new document by selecting "Save as" from the File menu. Pastor will ask you for your current password and then for a new one.

I want Pastor to open URLs in a specific browser.
You can change the default browser in Safari > Preferences > General > Default web browser

I want Pastor to automatically open my password file.
Drag your password file to the right side of the Dock. When the icon in the Dock is clicked, Pastor starts up and opens that document.

When I double-click on a Pastor document it opens in another application.
Add the extension .pastor to your Pastor document or "Save As" your Pastor document to a new file. When you double-click on it, Pastor starts up.

Click on your document's icon (once) in the Finder to select it. Select "Get Info" from the Finder's File menu. Select "Pastor.app" under "Open with" and click "Change all".

Select Pastor document icon in Finder, select File > Get Info, click "Open with:" pop up button, scroll to end and select "Other...", browse and select Pastor, check "Always open with", click "Add".

Whenever I try to add and save new data, I get an error message "An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down."
Open your document and without making any changes select File > Save as. This lets you save your data to a new document. This new document should work as intended. Delete the old document.

With version 1.7 the Pastor toolbar displays under the Finder menubar.
  1. Make a small change in any of the entries.
  2. Choose "Quit" under the Pastor menu.
  3. A dialog box will open, asking if you want to save the change, and the top bar of the application window will move down, allowing you to position it lower on your screen.
  4. Save and Quit. When you restart Pastor, the toolbar will be below the Finder menubar.

With Version 1.7.1 I can't open my Pastor document anymore. It's greyed out.
Open the info window of your document in the Finder. Select "Other" from "Open with". Switch from "Recommende Applications" to "All Applications" and browse to Pastor. Check "Always Open With".
